Help to shape the future development of the Lough Egish area

Monaghan County Council and the community groups of the Lough Egish area are embarking on a community planning exercise over the coming months, which will lead to the production of a Community Plan. The Plan will help to guide development in the area over the next five to seven years, and will identify the things which need to be improved in our community, and how this can be done.

The solutions will include a mix of new services, events, activities and amenities aimed at making Lough Egish a great place to live, as well as infrastructure and public realm enhancement works.

The Community Plan will include a list of projects which will be undertaken to help us to bring the 'perfect Lough Egish' to fruition, so that as funding opportunities come up over the coming months and years, the community will be ready and waiting with strong funding applications, and the best possible chance of successfully securing the necessary funding to give their projects life.

We have identified a number of projects which we think will help to improve life in Lough Egish. We now need your help to ensure that these are the right projects and priorities. Please let us know which of the proposed projects you think will make a positive impact in our community. Please also let us know if there are any areas which we have overlooked, or ideas which you would like to see added.

- What new activities would make living in Lough Egish better?
  • - What improvements to existing facilities would be needed in order to enable these new activities to happen?
  • - What new facilities or amenities are needed?
  • - Are there any gaps in services which need to be addressed?
  • - Are there unused assets lying in the area, which could be brought into use for the benefit of the community?

Help us to identify the projects which would be great to see happen in the village over the next three to five years, and play your part in making Lough Egish a fantastic place to live!

This survey will remain open until the end of November 2019.  We will then hold a public meeting in Aughnamullen Community Centre to present the findings to the community, and then identify how to address the issues which are emerging from your feedback.  We will then produce a Final Community Development Plan, which we hope to have completed by the end of the year

If you wish to receive a copy of the Final Plan when available, please leave your email address when prompted at the end.  This is recorded separately to your survey responses, so we won't be able to tell who said what - promise!!

Thank you for your help.
