A Matter of Balance Program: Addresses the fear of falling and provides opportunity for socialization with peers. Older adults who are community dwelling and living alone, are at risk for social isolation. Social isolation is associated with cognitive decline, depression and both can increase risk for falling. A Matter of Balance provides opportunities for socialization, and helps older adults overcome the fear of falling, and decrease risks for falls.
