Purpose & Procedures:  You may be eligible to participate in a survey investigating how people use music to deal with traumatic experiences. In order to participate, you must be over 18 years of age and have experienced some type of traumatic experience (which may include Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD) at some time in your life. This study is being conducted by Dr. David McAnulty, Associate Professor of Psychology, and his research team.

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete and consists of several brief questionnaires.

Risks & Benefits: Participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any point, simply by discontinuing the survey. All responses will be kept strictly confidential and you will not be asked to provide any information that personally identifies you.

You will not receive any direct, personal benefit from participating. There is no compensation for your participation.

There are no risks associated with this project, including stress, psychological, social, physical, or legal risk, considered to be greater than any of those that are experienced in daily life. It is possible you could feel some stress or discomfort when answering some general questions about your experience(s) with trauma, although no details will be asked.  If you do wish to discontinue due to discomfort, you may end your participation at any time without penalty or negative consequences.
