The Territorial Planning Unit (TPU) is looking to gather input and feedback from Treaty #3 members to begin to develop a Treaty #3 specific Anishinaabe Ecologically Significant Areas Framework (ESA). ESA’s are areas within Canada that have been identified through scientific assessments as having biological or ecological significance. ESA’s are viewed as spaces as the most important areas to ensure those particular ecosystems remain healthy and productive. Through this survey, the TPU will begin work to ensure that significant areas identified are protected and respected for all generations.
