10th Annual Prevent Suicide Wisconsin Conference

Prevent Suicide Wisconsin, Wisconsin's statewide public private partnership for suicide prevention housed within Mental Health America of Wisconsin, and the Conference Planning Committee are accepting proposals for breakout session presentations for the 2020 Prevent Suicide Wisconsin (PSW) Conference which will take place at the Kalahari Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells, on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Session Proposal Deadline: Friday, November 22, 2019
Notification emails will be sent on or before: Friday, January 17, 2020

Proposals that align with the conference theme "Reframing the Narrative", demonstrate evidence-based practices, enhance practical skills, support recovery, and energize people are invited to apply. All proposals should demonstrate adherence to appropriate language and messaging around suicide and suicide prevention. Selection will be based on the following criteria:
1. Presenter qualifications and responsiveness,
2. inclusion of the theme "Reframing the Narrative",
3. promotion of evidence-based information/best practices,
4. integration of the experiences of communities at high/disproportionate risk of suicide (Specific Racial and Ethnic Groups, LGBTQ+ Youth, Military Service Members and Veterans, Men in the Middle years, Rural/Farm populations, etc.), and
5. the direct inclusion of presenters with lived experience of suicide loss, attempts, and/or thoughts (Note: lack of presenters with lived experience will not disqualify proposal).
