We, the undersigned aged care workers, express our deep concern regarding the current wage situation for our dedicated nursing staff and healthcare assistants and other kaimahi hauora. We urge you to take immediate action to rectify this issue.

All staff deserve a cost-of-living wage increase.

Further, none of the 5% general funding uplift from Te Whatu Ora has been offered through our collective agreement negotiation processes.

You’re asking us to wait for Pay Equity. We cannot wait.

We understand the importance of pay equity in addressing gender discrimination, but that should not overshadow our immediate financial needs.

We call upon aged residential care employers to provide a wage increase that acknowledges the current economic realities we face.
