The draft land use bylaw is open for review! Changes are expected to be made based on feedback. If you have comments, we want to hear them so we can improve the document.
All municipalities in Alberta are required to have a land use bylaw.
Peace River's current land use bylaw has been in place since 2012. There has been a bylaw in place to regulate development in Peace River since 1932.

The Land Use Bylaw Refresh Project is intended to make the land use bylaw better. Principles of the refresh project are:
1.Reflect the Peace River context. 2.Align with the Town’s Plans. 3.Follow best practice. 4.Be clear and purposeful. 5.Be enforceable. 6.Simplify and improve development processes.
