a)       Manage the oral health care of the infant, child, adolescent, and adult, as well as the unique needs of women, geriatric, and special needs
b)       Select, obtain, and interpret diagnostic images for the individual patient.
c)       Recognize the manifestation of systemic disease and how the disease and its management may affect the delivery of dental care. 
d)       Formulate a comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral plan for the management of patients. 
e)       Utilize universal infection control guidelines for all clinical procedures. 
f)        To provide health care agencies with dental hygienists who are caring independent thinkers, and possess the clinical reasoning skills needed to practice with excellence in the communities in which they serve.

f)        To prepare dental hygiene graduates with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to pass the Clinical and National exams and enter the workforce as a productive member of the dental hygiene profession.
