Vocational Service
These events are organized by the Vocational Service Director and a committee when needed. These events require the members to do such things as correspond with the schools or event contacts, to coordinate volunteers when required, etc.

Chamber of Commerce Small Business Week - Small Business Luncheon- Works with the committee on the award that we sponsor and organizes the luncheon we host.(October)
Growing the North- Multiple Events A) Represent Rotary at GTN Trade Show in Conjunction with the Lottery Committee, B)Hosting of Wednesday Rotary Lunch meeting @GTN C) Attendance @GTN Conference.(February)
Rotary Employment Partnership- representative to liaison between club and partnership attend meetings. This initiative finds meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities in our community.
Excellence in Education - Organize and present annual awards for teachers (April)

Community Service
These events are organized by the Community Service Director or an Event Champion with a committee when needed. These events are our opportunity to volunteer in the community and we ask all of our members to participate in some way to make them a success.

Indigenous Relations Committee (Meets as needed)
Arbor Day- Meets a couple of times a year event is (May)
Big Toy Box- Volunteers help sort/shop/deliver Toys in (November/ December)
Food Bank Drive- Canada's largest community run food drive. Planning and running the event (September)
Salvation Army Kettles- Provide Volunteers and organize 2 hour shifts collecting money for the Salvation Army (November)
Terry Fox Run-Organize annual Community Run (September)
Seniors Tea-Organize and put on this social event for community seniors (June)

International Service:
these projects are organized by a Club Champion, who reports back to the International Service Director. Club members are asked if they would like to participate in the projects when an opportunity arises for them, which could mean driving an ambulance to Mexico, supplying books for the library, etc. The projects below are our current ones, but could change from year to year. Please indicate below which projects you are interested in.
International Projects Committee- Helps organize the international projects, helps with grant processes and vetting future international projects.
Highway to Mexico- Purchase Emergency Vehicles and supplies. Drivers required to deliver vehicles to Mexico and Fly home (October/November)
Ethiopia Project- Support for rural Girls Education (Grade School-University) and girls residence
Chile - providing bicycles, wheelchairs, soccer balls and eye glasses

Youth Service-
These projects are organized by the Youth Services or an Event Champion with a committee when needed. These projects are all geared towards youth in our community and require the members to do such things as correspond with the schools or event contacts, to coordinate volunteers when required, send out paperwork and make travel arrangements.

Adventures in Citizenship/Forestry/Human Rights. We find and sponsor local students to participate and travel to these events
Army Cadets- Liaison with the cadets. Our club sponsors them, and we organize volunteer opportunities for them within the Club
Interact Club- Swan City Rotary Club sponsors a Community Interact Club. This Committee helps, guides and promotes the group.
RYLA ( Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) / RYPEN ( Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment)
Club Counsellor for Outgoing exchange student- help in the selection process of our outgoing student which we sponsor, and be a liaison for them during their exchange.
Club Counsellor for Incoming exchange student. Paperwork, arranging host families, guardian for student for the year they are here.
Hosts for Incoming Youth Exchange Student -3 month commitment to host our student in your home as another member of your family.

Other Roles and Committees
Swan City Rotary Club has additional Projects that require committee members and volunteers .

Allocation Committee (Meets Quarterly and reviews funding requests from funds raised through our lotteries.)
Sergeant at Arms Committee- Keeper of decorum at our weekly meetings and recognizes good deeds and levies fines for questionable behaviour
Membership Committee- to meet regularly regarding club engagement and recruitment
We Care Committee- Consists of members who are our eyes and ears of the club. They reach out to our members to celebrate or offer aid during major life events.
Speakers Committee- Select and schedule speakers for weekly Club meetings
Rotary Foundation/Grants - This role is our club liaison with District 5370 in regards to the Rotary Foundation, as well as being educated in grant applications
Greeting Committee-reports to Sergeant At Arms, who schedules shifts and is mandatory for new Rotarians. Members setup/takedown the meeting room, and greet members and guests as they arrive.
Tech Committee- responsible for setting up and running the tech for our zoom portion of the meetings
Rotary Wellness House Initiative- this role is our club liaison on a larger committee of local Rotary Clubs who are trying to build affordable accommodations for patients needing treatments at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital

Swan City Rotary Club Board Positions
The board of directors' key purpose is to ensure the Club's prosperity by collectively directing the Clubs affairs, while meeting the appropriate interests of its Club Members.
SCRC Board meets once a month on the third Thursday of every month for 2 hours.
