Ph106b lecture preferences and make-up lecture Question Title * 1. Based on past experience, conventional lecturing does not seem to be the most effective (or engaging) way to teach Ph106bc. I would like to make the class more interactive, so I would like to know your preference among the following options for teaching style. In all cases, lecture notes will be available on the web ahead of time. "Interactive" = bring pencil and paper and work out some of the steps for problems, derivations, or examples collaboratively with your fellow students. No lecturing; class time consists only of interactive solving of problems. Requires full reading of lecture notes ahead of time. Lecturing from slides for ~half of each lecture, combined with interactive derivations and examples where possible. Does not require reading lecture notes ahead of time, but lecture pace will be quick, slowing down for interactive derivations and examples. Standard lecturing at the chalkboard.
