junior parkrun Expressions of Interest
By completing the following information you are expressing your interest in bringing a junior parkrun to your community. The information provided will be collated by parkrun Australia in order to identify prospective communities in which to launch our next junior parkrun event/s. 

Each new parkrun event is required to source $7,500 to cover establishment fees prior to securing a launch date. This includes a mandatory defibrillator for the event. 

By completing this information, we will assume that you wish to take on the volunteer role of Event Director. 

The Event Director (ED) is the person ultimately responsible for the event. If the event has Co-Event Directors, they share the role and are equally responsible for every aspect of the event.

The ED is responsible for building and managing the event team. The team should consist of a minimum of 4 Run Directors who are all ideally able to process results and complete other IT related tasks. The ED should train new RDs and provide ongoing support as required.

The ED should understand each volunteer role to the extent that they are able to carry out each role personally, and be able to train volunteers as required. The ED will handle any incidents, complaints or issues from the event team, parkrunners or external parties, and will seek support from their Event Ambassador and Head Office as required.

Tasks undertaken by the Event Director:
Liaise with their Event Ambassador
Provide ongoing support for your Run Directors
Liaise with Landowners as required
Ensure permits and risk assessments are current
Ensure that sufficient Volunteers are available each week to enable the event to safely proceed.
Ensure the Event Team understand parkrun polices and procedures in order to carry out their role.
Support parkrun policies and procedures and management decisions even if  they do not agree with them.
Read the Monthly Core Volunteer Emails
Maintain Event Facebook Page, or allocate this role to a trained volunteer and provide backup as needed
Manage Event Email, or allocate this role to a trained volunteer and provide backup as needed 
Train another volunteer to access Event Email as a backup should you be unable to access emails
Ensure anyone with access to the Event’s Facebook Page, Email Account or Webpage understands parkrun’s expectations when representing parkrun.
