Waste to Art Exhibition - Expression of Interest

Artists from the Hastings/ Mid North Coast region are invited to enter the 2024 Waste to Art Exhibition on display in June at the Wauchope Art Gallery. Artworks must be made primarily from recycled and repurposed material. Suitable items may include; plastic waste, discarded wood panels, fabric remnants, metal objects, old house paint etc.
The Waste to Art project is led by Vivianne Hazenveld, generously supported by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and Wauchope Chamber of Commerce.


Key Dates:
* Tuesday 18th at 9am - Submissions close online/in person
* Friday June 14 10 am - 2 pm. Artworks to be delivered to Wauchope Art Gallery
* Tuesday June 18 10 am - 12 noon. Artworks to be delivered to Wauchope Art Gallery
* Thursday June 20 Exhibition open to Public from 20 June - 6 July
* Saturday June 22 11am -1pm: Official Opening
* Saturday July 6 Exhibition Closes 2 pm
* July 9 - 13 Collect unsold work

Other Information:
* Each participant is permitted 2 entries into the exhibition.
* All work must be original and created by the Artist.
* Works do not have to be for sale
* 3D and 2D artworks all welcome. All 2D works must be professionally presented and ready for hanging on a gallery system, i.e. with D-rings.
* Please contact us if your work is bigger than 1m x 1m or heavier than 20 kgs.
* All artworks must be clearly labeled with the Artist name and work title.
* Entry is free.
* Commission is 15% of sale price+ any associated card payment fees.
* Due to limited space, works are accepted on a submission basis. The submission process is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
* You can drop your work off prior to June 13 within gallery opening hours (see below) Please contact Kate at the gallery on 0437133138 to arrange
* Artworks not sold to be collected between 10 and 12 July, please contact Kate if you are unable to collect on these days to negotiate alternative arrangements.

By submitting this form, you are agreeing that you understand and will undertake the following terms and conditions:

Sale price to include 15% gallery commission. If artwork is not for sale mark the price section with – NFS
By entering into the Waste to Art Exhibition you give WCC, WAG and Vivianne Hazenveld the right to reproduce images of the entered work for promotional purposes both digitally (online) and in print.
That you are willing for your art/business name and description to be included in public promotions of the program and included in the Wauchope Chamber website and social media along with any other relevant Wauchope Chamber sites or projects.
Under 18yr old entries need to include acknowledgement and email contact for a parent or guardian.
Artists are responsible for ensuring their artwork is stable and will not cause damage to the gallery or other pieces.
While the Chamber will take all measures to ensure the safety and care of your works, Artists exhibit at their own risk and will be responsible for their own insurances while exhibiting. Wauchope Art Gallery will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to any artwork whilst in their custody.
Wauchope Art Gallery and its contractors reserve the right to reject any wet, dangerous or delicate works that cannot be safely exhibited or any work received in a condition unsuitable for presentation.
All works must be clearly labeled, wrapped or boxed suitably on arrival.
Wauchope Art Gallery shall not be held responsible for any error or misdescription made during the production of the list of works or online content.
