This traineeship is training in leadership and interprofessional care of children with pulmonary conditions. The trainee participates in a variety of classroom and clinical experiences within the Pulmonary Division of the UAB Department of Pediatrics at Children's of Alabama.

Trainees may receive tuition assistance, financial support through a monthly stipend and conference travel. The traineeship is offered through the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration. UAB is fortunate to have one of the six Pediatric Pulmonary Centers (PPCs) funded nationally by MCHB.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work closely within an interprofessional team including nutritionists, advanced practice nurses, physicians, social workers, respiratory care practitioners, family leaders and other health professionals. We care for children with chronic and acute pulmonary conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.

As the Respiratory Therapy Faculty for the PPC, I hope you will consider this opportunity. The traineeship is designed for the respiratory therapist who is interested in learning and enhancing  leadership and advocacy skills. I would be delighted to talk with you further if you are interested in learning more about this leadership traineeship or would like to apply.
