The City of Monona Parks & Recreation Department wants community participation in our Parks & Open Space Survey to gather information for updating Monona's Park & Open Space Plan for 2021-2025.

The purpose of the survey is to assess the current and future leisure interests and preferences of community residents. Data obtained from the survey will be used by the City of Monona to guide the development of future programs and facilities.

The survey questions will focus primarily on parks (areas designated for passive and active recreation), and open spaces (lands suitable for preservation and education.)

The City purchased the San Damiano property at 4123 Monona Dr. on June 1, 2021 for 8.6 million dollars. The 10 acre property with over 1400 ft of Lake Monona shoreline includes a house, garage, mature trees, and open space. The City currently has a 2 million dollar grant award from Dane County and is applying for another 2.4 million dollar federal grant for acquisition of the property. The following questions are related to the purchase and any future development of San Damiano.
