Welcome to UB Law School Orientation Survey

Hello! I hope everyone's 1L year is off to a great start! I feel that it is beneficial to look back and reflect on your very first week here at UB. All of us at the office of Student Life thank you and appreciate your feedback about our "Orientation Program" survey in an effort to improve the experience for other law students. -Melissa, Class of 2021

This survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete and all answers are anonymous. Answers are being collected by a separate party and names or email will not be forwarded.

* 1. Prior to your arrival, Orientation materials were posted for you on the website and provided to you through US Mail in a 'New Student Orientation Manual'. Were these materials helpful to you? Did they help you feel prepared coming into orientation?

* 2. The first day consisted of many activities including opening remarks from the Dean and others, the IT Computer Session, information from legal research vendors, and the library social.

Looking specifically at the IT Computer Session from the Office of Information Technology, please rate how well the session prepared you to use the IT resources available to you at UB Law.

* 3. After the IT Computer Session, you heard information from legal research database representatives (LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.). Please rate how useful this session was for your introduction to Law School. Please add any additional comments about this session below.

* 4. The culmination of your first day ended with an invitation to the Law Library for a 'Library Social' event, sponsored by Law Library staff. Please give us an overall rating of the Library Social.

* 5. On Tuesday, August 20th, you had your class photo and attended the Downtown Court Trip and lunch reception (co-sponsored by the New York State Bar Association). Please give us an overall rating of the Court Trip.

* 6. On Wednesday, August 21 you attended a mandatory review of the GARP regarding the code of conduct, from the Office of Student Affairs. Please give us an overall rating of this session.

* 7. Additionally, on Wednesday, August 21st, you attended the Networking 101 Session from the Career Services Office which was focused on preparing you for the Alumni Reception Event. Rate how prepared you felt you were in engaging in conversations with the alumni at the event after attending this session.

* 14. You finished your Orientation week on Friday, August 23rd, with SBA's Welcome Event for new students, which took place at Buffalo Riverworks. This was an opportunity for students to meet and get to know their incoming class and some upper level students.
