Introduction

The Project Management Institute Southern Alberta Chapter (PMI-SAC) is accepting abstracts for presentations at the PMI Southern Alberta Chapter 2019 Symposium, being held in Calgary, Alberta on November 4, 2019.

The Professional Development Symposium is a new educational offering from the PMI Southern Alberta Chapter. This one-day event will feature intense, focused learning on the most current topics and case studies. Along with featuring real-life projects, the program will include sessions that will help project management professionals develop both technical and leadership skills. This Symposium will attract over 250 delegates and offers attendees the opportunity to earn up to Six (6) professional development units.
 
This brand new event will feature world class speakers and sessions and will provide a great opportunity for speakers to share expert knowledge and personal experience with the Project Management community. We are seeking applications from speakers who would like to submit a presentation proposal inline with one of the four tracks. If you would like to be considered,  please complete the electronic form below. The deadline is Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:59 PM MST and late submissions will not be accepted. All submissions must be provided in this electronic form. 

The theme for the symposium is Turning the Wheels of Innovation: Setting Change in Motion The event will bring together speakers and leaders who will share skills and insights on how to better equip project managers to start, manage and create change and become innovators within their organizations.  The event will inspire attendees to take the first step to initiate change and create momentum within their careers and projects. The Symposium will feature four tracks:
  • Project, Program & Portfolio Management (Enterprise Scrum, Agile, Lean Etc.)
  • Mega Projects & Case Studies
  • Technology & High Tech Applications
  • Soft Skills
This year's PDS will create a forum for attendees to discuss trends, technologies and innovative ideas that are changing the way we manage projects.

Please note that none of the sessions can be sales pitches. There will be no ‘branding’ or ‘advertising’ of products or services allowed unless approved in advance by the PMI-SAC Professional Development Symposium Committee.  

It is also important to know that all presenters must agree to submit their presentations for review prior to the conference and have them presented at the symposium. All presenters must also agree to be videotaped, photographed, and recorded and must sign a Speaker Agreement.

As a primary presenter or panelist you will receive one full conference registration. Additional speakers in the same session will receive a discount on the conference registration fee.
