Would you like to improve how you support, motivate, and retain volunteers?
Join us for an engaging and practical workshop introducing Volunteer, Reflect, Grow: Cards to Inspire and Sustain Volunteering — a new research-informed resource designed to strengthen reflective practice in volunteer management.
Why It Matters
Volunteers are at the heart of community action and delivering vital services — but recruiting and supporting them well takes reflection, creativity, and time. This workshop offers practical tools and shared learning to make that possible.
What to Expect
The workshop will be led by Dr. Susannah Pickering-Saqqa, Senior Lecturer at the University of East London. You will:
Discover the evidence and thinking behind the Volunteer, Reflect, Grow resource — developed in collaboration with small charities in East London.
Explore simple, adaptable models of reflective practice to strengthen volunteer support and sustainability.
Practice using selected activities from the cards in small groups and reflect on how they can be used in your own organisation.
Connect with other local Volunteer Managers to share experiences, challenges, and ideas for embedding reflection into everyday volunteering practice.
