Peer Learning Workshop: Latest Research on ‘Volunteering Among the Global Majority’

Peer Learning session: Latest Research on ‘Volunteering Among the Global Majority’ (Ethnic Minority Communities)
Tuesday 12th March 2024, 10.30am – 12.30pm, on Zoom

Would you like to increase the diversity of your volunteers and provide quality volunteer experiences for all?  In this practical and interactive peer learning session, we will hear key insights from NCVO’s new research into volunteering experiences and barriers among the global majority.

The term ‘global majority’ refers to all ethnic groups except white British and other white groups, including white minorities. This includes people from black, Asian, mixed, and other ethnic groups who are often referred to as ‘ethnic minorities’.

Amy McGarvey, Research and Insight Manager at NCVO will present the research findings and answer questions.  You will then join small discussion groups with Volunteer Managers from other local organisations, to identify how you can improve the experience of your current global majority volunteers as well as how to address barriers to volunteering and recruit more local volunteers from the global majority.

This session is suitable for experienced Volunteer Managers as well as those who are new to managing volunteers.

Priority will be given to voluntary sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents.
