Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this Earthwatch Student Challenge fellowship you must:
  • Be a current Year 10, 11 or 12 student
  • Attend a government school in rural or regional NSW or QLD.
  • Have not participated in a previous Student Challenge expedition

Letter of Reference
Your application must include a Letter of Reference from your teacher or principal.

Please download this document and email it to your teacher or principal, making sure to let them know that you're applying.
Your teacher or principal will then need to email their Letter of Reference to Earthwatch at education.programs@earthwatch.org.au



Answering the key selection criteria
To apply for a fellowship, you will need to answer the following questions in the spaces provided below (please keep your answers 150 words or less, dot points are encouraged).
This survey must be completed in one sitting and cannot be saved. We recommend preparing your responses in a separate document before pasting them into the application.

  • What interests you about the Earthwatch Student Challenge?
  • What do you hope to learn from participating in the Student Challenge?
  • Why do you love nature? Tell us about your personal experience with the natural world.
  • Earthwatch expeditions require teamwork, often in difficult conditions. What experience do you have of working in a team? What qualities do you think contribute to effective teamwork?
  • What plans do you have for your future? (e.g., career, study, travel, etc.) How will participating on the Student Challenge help you meet your goals?
