Plant breeding is attracting increasing interest at many levels of the federal government (including in the White House) as a means of stabilizing our food supply. The USDA has formed an internal Plant Breeding Working Group to give advice on setting priorities for funding for research grants and infrastructure across agencies. One of the main questions to be answered is what is the impact of federal funding in plant breeding. Acting as a source of information to advise this group, PBCC is attempting to document the impacts of your programs by asking its members to provide concrete examples. Please take time to answer the 10 questions and pass the survey to your colleagues. The results of this survey will be used across agencies to guide future funding and will directly impact public plant breeding in the future.

Thank you for your time,
The Plant Breeding Coordinating Committee
