FLC Applicant Information

The Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer a Faculty and Professional Learning Community program. All full time and part time instructors, staff, and administrators at Sacramento State are invited to apply.

What are Faculty and Professional Learning Communities (FLCs/PLCs)?

FLCs and PLCs are peer led groups (8-12) of faculty and professionals that engage in an active, collaborative, and supportive, year–long program with curriculum focused on a particular topic, problem or question. The goal of the FLCs and PLCs is to develop skills, knowledge, and expertise in the area of interest by creating a focused time and space apart from the daily work environment. The products of the FLCs and PLCs will enable faculty and higher education professionals to produce, collect, and evaluate evidence of student learning and student success, or secure funding for scholarly or creative projects. Year-long FLCs and PLCs meet 10 times, 2-hours each, over two semesters.
