This survey is targeted towards people working who facilitate youth participation activities, if you are a young person the below surveys will be better suited to the insight we wish to seek from you.

For young people that have not been involved in youth participation activities: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9MDRH5F

For young people with youth participation experience: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9MYKYNP

YACSA is partnering with the SA Commissioner for Children and Young People to explore ways to strengthen youth participation across South Australia. Within this project we hope to map existing youth participation opportunities, understand how young people experience these opportunities; including barriers, motivations and preferred participation methods.

We are also interested in understanding how organisations currently facilitate youth participation and identify the strengths, challenges and gaps across different methods, in order to opportunities to better connect youth participation activities across the sector to support more meaningful youth participation.

As well as this survey, YACSA will be out meeting with young people and sector workers to hear about all the cool work young people are doing across the sector. If you want to have a more in-depth chat about this project you can contact our Youth Participation Intern, Hana at hana@yacsa.com.au
What do we mean when we say, 'youth participation'?

For the purpose of this project, youth participation is understood as young people having meaningful influence over decisions held by councils, government, universities, service providers, or other institutions whose decisions affect young people's lives. The focus is therefore not on youth-led activities in general, but on whether there is a clear decisionmaker or power holder on the other end of the process.
