The school puts considerable effort into the area of community service.   Students are encouraged to perform community service, within the school and in the broader community, and are acknowledged at Awards/Presentation Night for the number of hours of community service they perform.  It is a key component of our Geelong Positive Engagement Program (GPEP) in year nine.  Each house also has a charity they support and students and staff support this charity work through fund-raisers each term.    Geelong HS  likes to encourage and welcome volunteers into the school and has had a long-standing association with the volunteer organisation - EdConnect.  The school also encourages and welcomes pre-service teachers to come and train with us.

In recognition of this work, we are considering adding an additional school value of service.  Do you support this proposal?
