1. Introduction to the Survey

About Us
The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services (CFAS - www.cf4aass.org) endeavours to inspire, promote, and sustain the innovation, coordination, and integration of exceptional Animal-Assisted Services (AAS) within Canada's healthcare, social services, justice, corrections, and voluntary sectors in order to build a healthier, safer, and barrier-free Canada with people, pets, and partners (animals in service).

Unleashing Industry Potential
The provision of service dogs is one of many segments within the growing Animal-Assisted Services (AAS) Industry. All sectors have growing pains and this one is no exception.  However, tackling common industry challenges through the lens of collaboration can become the very catalyst for advancement and innovation.

Your voice and contributions toward this research matters. However, participation is voluntary.  Respondents will not be identified in the published final report, which will be shared on the CFAS’ website and distributed via email to participants and other interested parties.  Information you choose to contribute will be grouped by type and used to inform a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis that is being conducted in order to provide an industry snapshot that can be used to facilitate well-versed decisions.

Finally, within this evolving marketplace gaining insight into mutual industry challenges that threaten the viability and recognition of service dog trainers and training organizations is necessary to capture progressive thinking that can be used to ensure service excellence, consumer satisfaction, and the welfare of service dogs, while building confidence among businesses, other stakeholders as well as the public at large.
