The Philadelphia Masjid Building Program Community Survey
Infill Philadelphia: Sacred Places/Civic Spaces is a partnership between the Community Design Collaborative (the Collaborative) and Partners for Sacred Places (Partners). The aim of this project is to re-envision, underutilized purpose-built religious built properties as community hubs.
This survey is designed to add the community’s voice to the design and development of the Philadelphia Masjid’s site located at 4700 Wyalusing Avenue which includes the underutilized school building, the connected building that houses the Mosque, and the vacant land to the rear of the property. All three components will be addressed as part of this project. The goal of this project is to challenge everyone to think differently about the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of this property. Thank you for taking the time to complete this brief survey. This project is made possible with a grant from the William Penn Foundation.
Please answer the following questions about the Philadelphia Masjid/Sister Clara Muhammad School property and the surrounding community. When we use the word “community” we are referring to the area referred to as Mill Creek/Lower Lancaster Avenue.
