Establishing a Community Vision

The Comprehensive Plan process represents an opportunity for Penn Township to envision and evaluate future scenarios on a grand scale, identifying the type of place it wishes to become and what would be required to achieve the best possible future version of itself.

A vision statement represents the foundation of the Comprehensive Plan. It answers the question: What do residents want to see happen in the Township in the long run? The vision statement identifies the community’s most important values.

Future decisions made by elected and appointed officials should consider consistency with the vision, as it represents a publicly supported and shared idea of the type of place the community is and intends to become.
