Cancer Center Plan to Enhance Diversity Survey
With the establishment of the new Plan to Enhance Diversity (PED) component across NCI-designated cancer centers, efforts to both lead and develop these plans are rapidly expanding across the nation. This questionnaire was created to better understand the opportunities and challenges related to the development and pursuit of PEDs. The goal of this questionnaire is to help inform the broader cancer center community about the current landscape of PED efforts and to share experiences of PED leaders.
The ideal person to complete this survey is the PED leader at your institution, or if one has not yet been appointed it should be completed by a cancer center leader with strong knowledge of your center’s current diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Your cancer center does not need to be NCI designated for you to complete this survey.
All responses will be kept strictly confidential, and information collected will only be reported out in ways that no individual or individual cancer center can be identified.
There are four sections to the survey:
A. Information on the person completing the survey
B. PED Core development
C. PED-related demographics
D. PED leadership demographics
All survey questions except those in Section A are optional.
The results of the survey will be shared with all respondents and there are plans to publish the results in a peer-reviewed journal. We plan to circulate the survey again in a few years to document changes/trends in the efforts to enhance diversity in membership and leadership in cancer research.
