Session Proposal Application
Submission Deadline: Friday, April 13 COB

It is no secret that Colorado is growing, and that AIA Colorado architects are charged with designing our future. We are seeing dramatic changes in the architectural landscape all around us—from Denver to the Western Slope, Fort Collins to Pueblo.

While this creates immense opportunity for architects, it can also spur growing pains. In this time of rapid change for our communities, how will you contribute as an architect? Join the conversation and present your expertise and/or ideas for addressing Colorado's current state of growth at the 2018 AIA Colorado Practice + Design Conference, scheduled for October 11 - 13 in Keystone, Colorado.

AIA Colorado and its 2018 Practice + Design Conference Committee is seeking speakers to address the following topics at this year's event:

• Responsibly designing for the future under the pressures of rapid growth
• Designing resilient places and communities built to last through the 21st century
• Designing equitably and achieving equity, inclusion and diversity within our own firms – in response to Colorado’s growing diversity
• Growing your career through mentorship, knowledge resources and business know-how
• Advancing in your career—from post-grad to FAIA
• Fortifying your Colorado architecture firm so that it is prosperous now and in the future
• Understanding design’s impact on human growth and development and incorporating these principles into our designs

AIA Colorado Staff and the Practice + Design Conference Committee share the goal that attendees will leave the conference with…

• Ideas for resilient designs that will contribute positively to both existing and new communities
• Innovative new approaches to sustainable and energy efficient design
• Strategies to implement in their workplace that will support equity, diversity and inclusion
