1.In February, 2013, BC will mark its first "Family Day," a new statutory holiday. The Government of British Columbia has asked for input on whether the date of this new holiday should be the 2nd Monday of February or the 3rd Monday of February.

Having Family Day on the 2nd Monday would mean a different long weekend than many other jurisdictions, allowing British Columbians to enjoy local attractions without the added crowds of out-of-province visitors.

Having Family Day on the 3rd Monday would align our long weekend with other provinces and neighbouring states, which may make it easier for families in different jurisdictions to get together and for BC businesses to plan, particularly for businesses that operate in multiple jurisdictions.

We would like to know if you have a preference for the date of BC's new statutory holiday, Family Day:
