Trivia Quiz: Chevalier Theatre and Gene Mack Gym |
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the dedication of the City of Medford’s Chevalier Auditorium and Gene Mack Gym, which opened as the South Annex to the old Medford High School complex on Forest Street in 1940.
The nonprofit Friends of Chevalier Auditorium and Gene Mack Gym was founded in 1993 to foster community and financial support for the theater and gymnasium, which both had fallen into disrepair and disuse after old Medford High closed in 1970 due to a fire.
Today the refurbished theater thrives under the management of Bill Blumenreich Presents, and the gym houses the Medford Recreation Center, along with Medford Youth Center, which is operated by the Mystic Valley YMCA.
The Friends invite you to take this Trivia Quiz as part of CACHE’s Circle the Square celebration on September 12, 2020. All contestants with the most correct answers will be entered into a drawing for an original copy of the Chevalier Theatre dedication ceremony book from March 7, 1940 (up to 10 winners).
