YEP Champions Expression of Interest Application 2026

Who is YEP? What is YEP Champions?

The YEP Project:

The Youth Educating Peers Project or the YEP Project is a youth peer-led sexual health and relationships project in WA. We are part of the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA).

YEP aims to support, educate and advocate for young people aged 12-25 on relationships, sexual health and blood-borne virus (SHBBV) issues.

The YEP Project is funded by the Department of Health WA (Sexual Health and Blood-Borne Virus Program), is designed and delivered in partnership with WAAC and seeks advice from a range of youth and sexual health stakeholders.

YEP’s focus is on the use of peer education as a youth participation and health promotion strategy with our group of paid peer educators, the YEP Crew. Our peer education method takes a harm-minimisation, sex-positive and inclusive approach, facilitating a safe and comfortable environment for young people to learn and ask questions.

YEP Champions:

Are you the go-to friend, sibling, cousin or peer that people turn to for information and advice about relationships and sexual health?

If that sounds like you, we’d love you to apply to be a YEP Champion! This is a volunteer opportunity for young people aged 16-25 who are passionate about supporting their communities and learning more about sexual health, respectful relationships and youth advocacy.
