The next stage of the Washington Park Framework Plan needs your help!

The Washington Park Framework Plan is a long-term vision for improvements to the park over time. The last Framework Plan for Washington Park was adopted in 2002.

Washington Park is a special and historic place, and planning for its next 20 years means balancing preservation with innovation. To do this, the Chicago Park District developed alternatives for six (6) subareas of the park we heard are ready for change, as well as sitewide improvements.

Sitewide improvements are proposed throughout Washington Park regardless of which alternatives are chosen for each subarea. These include:

  • Enhanced edges improving facilities along the park's perimeter
  • Improved pedestrian paths
  • Consistent curbs
  • Redistributed sports courts
  • Creating parking reserves
  • Installing amphitheaters

The following alternatives for each subarea were presented at a community open house at the Washington Park Fieldhouse on February 3, 2024. Please review these alternatives and select your preferred option. Feedback from the open house and this survey will inform the final designs.
