Volunteers will work alongside the Vogue Knitting LIVE staff and other like-minded knitters at Vogue Knitting LIVE Pasadena!

We are excited you are interested in volunteering at Vogue Knitting LIVE Pasadena, and we appreciate the time and effort of our volunteers who work so hard to ensure that Vogue Knitting LIVE runs smoothly. We look forward to working with you at the show.

Volunteering at Vogue Knitting LIVE is a tremendous way to meet other knitters, network with the Vogue Knitting LIVE staff, contribute to a successful event, and work with the very best knitting teachers across the country.

Vogue Knitting LIVE will take place at
Pasadena Convention Center
300 E Green St
Pasadena, CA

What We Need From Our Volunteers:

Volunteers will be needed Thursday, May 12, through Sunday, May 15, including some early morning and evening hours. There will be pre-event orientation on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 pm at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Volunteers will be scheduled for up to 9 hours of work over the course of the weekend. We will most likely schedule you in three-hour shifts. We ask that volunteers register for no more than two classes or lectures, due to the time commitment of the volunteer program.

Please list all times you would be available to work, as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate ALL requests. Interest in the Volunteer Program is high, so early sign-up is encouraged!

Many duties will require you to be on your feet for extended periods of time, and some may involve downtime, so we encourage you to wear comfortable shoes and bring along your own knitting projects to work on while not assisting guests.

Duties May Include:

Staffing Registration or Information Desk: Welcome guests, distribute name badges and programs, direct guests to Marketplace or classrooms, answer questions about the event, etc.
Gift Bag Assembly: Stuff bags with materials or gifts sent by Vogue Knitting LIVE sponsors on Thursday May 12.
Classroom and Lecture Door Monitoring: Ensure attendees entering the classrooms are wearing badges, support teachers’ immediate needs by reporting to supervisors if there are issues with attendance, size of class, supplies, audio visual equipment, etc.
Marketplace Monitoring: Monitor all areas of the Marketplace, check badges and wristbands, and answer questions from attendees.
General Staff Support: Assist the Vogue Knitting staff with various tasks.
Beginner Lounge: Assist with learn to knit and crochet lessons
Fashion Show Dresser: Assist with dressing the models in garments for the fashion shows
Yarn Tasting & Ball Winding Lounge: Assist attendees with winding yarn and answering questions regarding the yarn that is available in the Yarn Tasting
Fitting Station: Assist the staff member in the Fitting Station with anything they may need, such as measuring attendees, coordinating the line, etc.
Teacher Table: Assist the Vogue Knitting LIVE staff member with checking in teachers before class as well as helping direct students to their classes.
Breakdown Support: Assist Vogue Knitting LIVE staff with packing up the event. This may include carrying light boxes.

Plus other areas/duties as necessary. All will be explained at the Volunteer Meeting.
