What is the PAR ID/A PAC?
Pennsylvania Advocates and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities Political Action Committee (PAR ID/A PAC) is a qualified political action committee connected to Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability (PAR), a trade and professional association registered with the Federal Election commission (FEC) and the Pennsylvania Department of State (DOS). As a PAC connected to PAR, certain restricted employees of PAR and its members can pool their political contributions to support a common goal. The PAR ID/A PAC advances the goals of people with an intellectual disability or autism and the ID/A service providers in Pennsylvania. The PAR ID/A PAC will support candidates in Pennsylvania and in Washington DC, who will assist PAR in achieving its objectives.

Prior Approval Authorization:
Federal election law, including the FEC regulations, requires a corporate member company of PAR to first provide PAR ID/A PAC with a prior executed authorization before any individual in its restricted class can be solicited to contribute to PAR ID/A PAC. Accordingly, only an individual (or immediate family members) in the “restricted class” of the PAR membership company whose company has given prior authorization is eligible to be solicited by the PAR ID/A PAC. The restricted class of a PAR member company is defined as “the company’s executive and administrative personnel or their families.” Executive and administrative personnel are paid on a salary basis and have policymaking, managerial, professional, or supervisory responsibilities. This restricted class of employees can be expanded to solicit to all employees only twice a year.

AUTHORIZATION:
Prior to an individual in the restricted class being solicited to contribute to the PAR ID/A PAC, his or her company’s primary contact with PAR must have completed and executed this Prior Approval Authorization Form. The primary contact is defined as the representative of the corporate company member with whom the trade association normally conducts PARs activities who has authority to execute such.

This Authorization allows PAR member companies to grant this authorization for up to three years by signing on behalf of the corporate member next to each year that the authorization is granted.

Pursuant to federal law, a corporate member of a trade association can give a prior authorization to one trade association PAC a year.

By signing this authorization, I am verifying that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, that:
1. I am an authorized representative of the company indicated below.
2. The company indicated below is a member of PAR.
3. PAR is the only trade association in which the company indicated below has given a prior authorization to for the calendar year(s) listed below.
4. I am authorized to execute this authorization on behalf of the company.

And on behalf of my company I am authorizing PAR ID/A PAC to solicit the restricted class of employees of the company, and as such may be expanded, for the calendar years listed below.

ALL CONTRIBUTIONS TO PAR ID/A PAC ARE STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO CONTRIBUTE WITHOUT REPRISAL. NEITHER PAR NOR ITS CORPORATE MEMBERS WILL FAVOR OR DISADVANTAGE ANYONE BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT THEY CONTRIBUTE OR BECAUSE THEY DECIDE NOT TO CONTRIBUTE.
