The FAS Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is pleased to announce a new cycle of the Postdoctoral Awards for Professional Development

These awards are designed to support the professional development needs of postdocs and research associates, by providing reimbursement for activities that directly enhance the individual's professional growth, and which their faculty mentors may be unable to fund. Such activities include, but are not limited to, conference travel, workshop attendance, and course enrollment. Each recipient will receive an award of up to $750. Postdocs are eligible to receive only one Professional Development award during their time at Harvard.

Cycle 2, 2017 awards will fund activities taking place between June 1st – November 30th 2017. The deadline for this awards cycle is 5:00pm, EST, on Thursday June 1st, 2017. Award winners will be announced by the end of June 2017.

Applicants must be one of the following:
  • Fellow, Postdoc, Int PD (job code 069591),
  • Fellow, Postdoc, Ext PD (job code 000949),
  • Postdoc, Visiting, Stip (job code 061019),
  • Research Associate (job code 061103) with upwards salary limit of $60k
  • College Fellow (job code 000303).

The process privileges applicants who have been:
        • Invited to present, or if their paper/talk/poster is accepted before the award deadline
        • At Harvard for more than 1 year (exception: postdocs in Arts & Humanities)
        • Present clear and persuasive statements of their need (including a well-researched budget)
