Your feedback is requested on delayed start schedule for next school year. Fairless has closed school 11 days this year due to bad weather. Of those 11 days, I feel two or three days we could have attended school if we had used a delayed start. If the district implemented a two hour delayed start schedule, the bus would pick up students two hours later than normal and release normal times. For example, on a delayed schedule, if your child is normally picked up at 6:40 a.m., the new time would be 8:40 a.m.

A delayed start allows temperatures to rise, or road crews to make our roads safer, therefore preventing us from missing an entire day of school. I am very interested in hearing your opinion on using a delayed start schedule. Please respond yes or no at the end of this message, or if you need time to think over, please go to the Fairless Local School District website and click on the link “Fairless Parent -Delayed Start Survey.” Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
