1. Live in Spokane, Yakima, Chelan, Douglas, Benton or Franklin Counties.
2. In the 10th, 11th or 12th grade for the '20-'21 school year.

* 2. What is YEP? The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is an advocacy training community of teens who are driven to engage their community. They are mentored by organizers who will provide them with the training and infrastructure to build their vision of change in the community. YEP develops youth leadership skills through social justice work in a mentor-guided, youth-led environment.  
 
YEP develops youth leadership skills through social justice work. Teens between 10th and 12th grades are guided by organizing mentors to increase their knowledge of healthcare in their communities, develop their activism and advocacy skills, and build community relationships. YEP youth will be empowered with the guidance and resources to build intersectional movements in their own communities, in keeping with their goals and vision.  
 
Objectives: 
-Develop youth leadership skills through social justice work  
-Foster youth-led movements in YEP communities  
-Advocate for change at the local, state and national levels  
-Maintain inclusive and affirming environments  
-Increase youth access to healthcare and other services in YEP communities  

The goal of the YEP program is to nurture a community of youth who are knowledgeable about reproductive health and justice as an intersectional issue and are equipped to advocate for their values in the public sphere.  
In keeping with this goal, YEP adheres and promotes the following values:  
-Centering youth voice and autonomy   
-Intergenerational learning   
-Intersectional consciousness   
-Continued justice learning   
-Community consciousness   
-Activism and advocacy  

To join YEP, you must be able to commit to two virtual meetings a month, plus virtual presentations and special events like retreats and lobby day.
