Why Singapore?

Since 2019, Singapore has nurtured a vibrant global ecosystem for agri-food tech companies to build their ventures and scale up quickly through a strong funding presence, cutting-edge regulatory frameworks, and robust private-public partnerships. The state has been especially active in supporting industry transformation towards being highly productive, climate-resilient, and sustainable, allocating over S$309m to urban food production, future foods, and food safety research and innovation projects. International startups are undoubtedly capitalising on local opportunities and using Singapore to open access to opportunities in Asia, as regional spending on food is set to double to over S$10.65 trillion by 2030.

We welcome applications that focus on, but not limited to:
  • Plant-based foods and drinks
  • Precision fermentation and cultivated products (e.g. protein, fats and lipids)
  • Algal, bacterial and fungal derived proteins, biopolymers, pigments and bioactives
  • Novel ingredients to improve the quality and functionality of innovative food products
  • Hybrid protein products (e.g. blending plant-based, fermentation and cultivated products to create novel high-functionality foods)
