*A castle tower. A warrior in ancient armor approaches the sleeping bard*
Veteran: “Arise, young squire, for the hour of battle is at hand! The khaganate is at the gate. Do you not hear the singing of their horns?”
Animation: *the bard rolls over*
Veteran: “How far the noble have fallen. Arise, young squire! Or have you forgotten your oath?”
Judd: “I owe you nothing. Leave me be. Get lost.”
Animation: *the warrior approaches, looming over the resting bard*
Veteran: “The blood of Prince Hendar shall be on your hands. How can you gaze in the mirror and not be weighed down by your betrayal?”
Judd: “He’s long gone, and so is his kingdom. Let me get some sleep, you wretched phantom!”
Animation: *the warrior looks at his hands and realizes they are translucent*
Veteran: “How… how could this have come to pass?”
Animation: *the bard sighs and sits up*
Judd: “Fine, listen. After King Hendar II was slain, Prince Hendar III succeeded him, but he didn’t last a year on the throne.”.
Judd: “The capital was sacked, and the kingdom was no more. Two hundred years have passed since then, and there you have it.”
Veteran: “This could not… cannot be. Do you not hear the singing of the horns, young squire?”
Animation: *the bard collapses back onto the bed and covers his ears with a pillow*
Judd: “Why did I ever study to become a spirit medium? I’d do anything for a good night’s sleep…”
