Texans Care for Children
Texans Care for Children seeks to raise the voices of individuals who have been directly impacted by the systems we seek to improve - including foster care, the justice system, and the public mental health system. A limited number of paid internships for individuals with systems involvement are available on an ongoing basis.The opportunities are meant to provide underrepresented Texans with policy experiences and skills that will strengthen their ability to support their respective communities while improving our state for all Texas children. Interns and/or fellows with lived experience are not required to share their story as part of this position.
If you have been involved in the foster care, youth justice system, and/or the public mental health system as a child, and are interested in a paid internships/fellowship with Texans Care for Children, please complete this form at anytime.
We do not accept unsolicited internship applications from students who have not been impacted by child and youth serving systems. However, all are welcome to apply to posted internship positions.
At this time, all interns and fellows will need to be able to be physically in our Austin office at least 1 to 2 days per week.
