That's What They Get Paid For

Customer Courtesy & Responsibility

I'm conducting a brief, anonymous survey for my college persuasive speech about customer behavior, common courtesy, and personal responsibility in retail and service environments.

This survey explores whether customers should be expected to clean up after themselves or whether those responsibilities belong to employees.

There are no right or wrong answers. Please respond honestly based on your own experiences and opinions.
1.Have you ever worked in a customer-facing position?
2.How often do you return your shopping cart to a designated cart return?
3.When browsing clothing in a store, what do you typically do with items you decide not to purchase?
4.When shopping, how often do you return unwanted items to their original location?
5.How much responsibility do you believe customers have for keeping stores and other shared spaces reasonably organized?
6.What do you believe is the MAIN reason customers leave shopping carts, merchandise, or other items out of place?
7.How strongly do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
