Writer Mentor Program

NWEG Writer Mentor Program 2020

A program designed to assist amateur writers in publishing their first paid writing project by mentoring them with professional editors. Participants will be published and paid $600 upon successful completion of an original article of approximately 1200 words. This collaboration between Northwest Editors Guild and Crosscut will focus on personal essays situated in the Pacific Northwest.

3.Do you feel that voices like your own are represented in local media?
4.Do you have a regular writing routine?
5.Are you available to meet in-person once a month in or near Seattle from May to October?
6.If there is a quarantine in effect, are you available to meet online once a month from May to October?
7.Do you already have a story idea for an essay about living in the Pacific Northwest that you would like to publish?
8.Please describe one to three personal essays that you would like to publish with Crosscut.
