Study Title: Morality of Various Scenarios

Purpose of the Study:
The goal of this survey is to collect data on how individuals respond to certain scenarios and perceive their morality on a scale from 1-4. The study is open to any English-speaking adult over the age of 18. This survey is not open to minors.

Procedures:
Participation in this study will take approximately 5-10 minutes online. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to read 6 scenarios carefully and rate each scenario’s morality on a scale from 1-4 (1 being completely immoral and 4 being completely moral). You will then be given the opportunity to provide any additional information that may have impacted or influenced your responses, however this step is completely voluntary.

Risks and Benefits
Potential Risks:
Participating in this study may involve some discomfort due to references to controversial topics regarding substances and violence. We anticipate that your participation in this survey presents no greater risk than everyday use of the internet.

Every effort will be made to minimize risks and you may withdraw at any time without penalty.

Potential Benefits:
Participating in this study may result in a greater societal understanding of moral reasoning, particularly in relation to the law. We hope to learn more about how legal status impacts perceived morality of various scenarios, and how that data can be used to better educate the general public.

Your alternative to participating in this study is to not participate.

Incentives for Participation
This survey includes a raffle; if you choose to participate by entering your email, you will be entered into a raffle in which one in every 20 participants will receive a $20 Visa gift card. This raffle is optional; you may opt out of entering your email if you so choose. P.S: This survey contains Karma to get free survey responses at SurveySwap.io.

Confidentiality and Data Protection
Data collected from this study are completely anonymous in that no personally identifiable information will be collected and the information you choose to share cannot be connected back to you. Results and presentations from this study may be shared with the community and will not identify you by name. Only authorized research personnel may have access to the study data and records, stored on a private locked tablet and private locked laptop for 6 months or until all survey data has been analyzed.
