The Award

The Joint Centres for Transformative Healthcare Innovation Award honours those who have demonstrated leadership in innovation and enacted a change in their local environment and/or within the broader hospital system.

Presentation of Award

Winners will be recognized and presented with their award at InnovationEX, the annual signature event hosted by the CEO’s of the Joint Centres. InnovationEX will be held on Friday May 31, 2019 at the BMO Institute for Learning 3550 Pharmacy Ave, Scarborough, ON M1W 3Z3. The event is free for staff.

The Award is open to employees of Joint Centres’s hospitals: Humber River Hospital, Mackenzie Health, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Michael Garron Hospital, North York General Hospital, Southlake Regional Health Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Centre. There will be one award per hospital.

Awards Criteria

To be considered for this award:

  • be an individual or a team that has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and leadership;
  • have enacted an innovative solution or change (could be at the point of care, within a program, or a new project)
  • have demonstrated measurable improvements in the change that they have delivered within their organization; and
  • have made an impact within their organization.
*Frontline staff and teams are strongly encouraged to apply for this award.
How to Apply

Individuals can choose to self-nominate, or be nominated by organizational leadership or peers. Nominations can be for individual or team achievements.
