Discover Downtown Happy Birthday Concord Sidewalk Sale Celebration
Hello Downtown Merchants--
It's a hot time and summer in the city -- so let's plan a downtown-wide summer sidewalk sale! The Merchants Roundtable events team and Intown Concord are pleased to present this Discover Downtown opportunity.
The date is Saturday, August 8, from 10am to 5pm. The date was selected to coincide with Concord's 250 Birthday Celebration, which begins Monday, August 10. 50 years ago, for the Concord's bicentennial celebration, the city held a week-long party in August, 1965...fast forward, and the Concord 250 committee is planning a similar event from August 10 to 16! http://concord250.org/concord-city-celebration-week-810-816
The summer sidewalk sale will be a "kickoff" to the week-long birthday celebration. Concord 250 has endorsed and will promote it as a partner event.
ALL DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE.
What you need to know and do! PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING UP!
1. Complete the survey and let us know if you want to be part of the sidewalk sale. The fee is $25, payable to the Merchants Roundtable; funds will be used for paid advertising and to purchase party favor bags that will be distributed to participating merchants.
2. Plan your summer sidewalk sale - which can be "inside" your store as well. FYI - all stores must leave at least a 4ft wide unencumbered pedestrian way. We recommend that you plan 30" or less out from your storefront. Tables/merchandise racks can run the length of your storefront. The depth can't block a passage way.
3. Intown Concord will give you a supply of party bags to hand out. The idea is to have shoppers visit all participating stores to shop and pick up birthday party "favors" to put in their birthday bag.
4. Provide a party favor for your store (optional). Coupon for a return visit, small trinket, piece of candy, sticker, etc.
4. Use the online event kit (coming week of July 20) for posters, bag stuffers, idea pages, and a press release to share with your email list.
5. Post on your Facebook
6. Decorate your store (and window and sidewalk!) birthday style!
7. Have fun :)
