💋 Tell Us Everything, Darling...
We’re collecting stories from 50 fabulous years of Connections Nightclub — and we want yours.
We’re especially keen to hear about the glory days of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and noughties (yes, shoulder pads and leather harnesses both welcome). Think:
Your first time at Connies (nervous? electric? wild?)
That unforgettable love, lust, or heartbreak
Bumping into someone famous in the bathroom queue
Theme nights like Women Only, Leather, or Drag Spectaculars that made you feel alive
This is about the moments that made you feel seen, safe, loved — or completely fabulous.
Whatever your story, your voice belongs here.
We’ll be turning your stories into a beautiful community publication to celebrate 50 years of Connies and 20 years of GRAI. So, dust off those memories, take a breath, and spill the glitter-soaked tea.

We’re thrilled you’re sharing your story — but here’s the fine print:
  • We may edit your story for grammar, style, and length — think of it as a light zhuzh, not a rewrite.
  • Not every story will make it into the final publication, but every voice helps shape the legacy.
  • We would LOVE to share your photos. They may relate to the story or a great pic from the time your story relates to. To have photos included with your story please email them to eo@grai.org.au.
  • Our final collection will be for all ages across our rainbow family. We love juicy details, but we might need to bleep names or tone down anything too X-rated.
  • And lastly — don’t be a dick. Share your truth, not your trauma dump. We’re here to celebrate, reflect, and uplift.
If you agree — spill with style. 💅
