Otto’s Artisan Bakehaus is a traditional Artisan Bakery, founded on the simple desire to make beautiful bread. Honouring the traditional style of baking, utilising tried and tested, from-scratch recipes with only the purest ingredients, our products are handcrafted and baked in traditional stonehearth ovens.
 
2019 is a milestone year for the Otto’s brand, as we open our second location while continuing to meet the increasing demand for our handcrafted Bakehaus products.
 
About the role:
As an Artisan Baker, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, all highly skilled in their craft. You will support our Pastry Chefs and Head Baker with creating, preparing and producing all pastries, breads and desserts for our high-volume retail operation. You will practice safe food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations, whilst maintaining cleanliness and compliance with food sanitation standards. You will also ensure continued freshness of stock by maintaining a meticulous stock rotation regime.
 
 
About you:
You are inspired by perfect cakes, handcrafted loaves and intricate pastries. While pastry experience is not necessary, you carry a heartfelt appreciation of beautiful baked goods and sugar art. You demonstrate a genuine desire to learn new skills from the best in the business. You possess a positive attitude and enjoy working as a member of a fast-paced, top-flight team.
 
Organisational and time management skills are essential, together with the ability to follow clear direction and assist with all preparation and routine clean up. You show a basic understanding of kitchen and food service, and hold (or be able to obtain) a Food Handlers Certificate.
 
You are proactive, and it is essential that you are available to work early mornings, flexible days including some weekends, for short 4-6 hour shifts. This role requires you on the ground for approximately 30 hours per week.
 
Finally, you are engaging, well presented and nurture a genuine love of all food groups.
