The Office of the Staten Island Borough President is taking steps to develop a data strategy to strengthen efforts to fight addiction and overdose in Staten Island.

As part of this effort, the Office is inviting the public to contribute ideas for approximately 10 to 15 key measures that should be used to better identify needs and measure response to the overdose crisis on Staten Island.

The 10 to 15 key measures will be distributed across six focus areas:

1. Surveillance of opioid harms
2. Prevention of opioid misuse
3. Overdose reversal
4. Addiction treatment
5. Recovery support
6. Diversion of non-violent individuals towards treatment instead of jail

Anonymous responses will be accepted. Individuals who provide identifying information including their names should be aware that because this is a public process, under most circumstances, identifying information will be disclosed under applicable laws.

To speak confidentially to a counselor and get access to mental health and substance misuse services, in more than 200 languages, 24/7/365 call 1-888-NYC-WELL (1-888-692-9355) or text WELL to 65173.
