About the Course
This 5-day course, developed by the Fritz Institute in conjunction with CaLP, is structured around the humanitarian project cycle and allows a range of operations staff to understand their role and function in the design, implementation and monitoring of cash and voucher assistance (CVA).  

Course AimTo ensure understanding of CVA and implications for Supply Chain, Finance and ICT, develop basic competences to deliver CVA, and build inter-functional understanding to support implementation.

Objectives:
  • Describe how CVA needs to be integrated into the roles of different functions throughout the project cycle
  • Explain what operational information is needed to inform response analysis
  • Evaluate the operational feasibility of cash as a modality
  • Assess options for approaches to delivering CVA and understand implications for operational design
  • Explain and manage the process to compliantly and effectively select, contract and manage service providers required for implementation of CVA
  • Plan for how the disbursements to beneficiaries will be actioned, reconciled and reported
  • Identify key operational risks in mitigating actions specific to CVA
Who is this course for?
This course is for supply chain, finance and ICT staff who are, or will be, supporting the implementation of cash and voucher assistance (CVA). Participants are typically manager and office level staff from supply chain, finance and ICT teams. This course is not for programme personnel.

Note: While there are no fees for this course, participants are responsible for any travel or associated costs. CaLP will not be supporting visas to enter Kenya for this course. This course is kindly funded by USAID.
