Business consultation about the One Linlithgow Business Improvement District (BID).

Following publication of the One Linlithgow four year progress report for the current BID term from 1st October 2019 to 30th September 2023, a consultation process has been set up to measure the feedback from levy paying business owners in Linlithgow.

Before completing this consultation survey, it is worth reading the progress report that details all that has been done with associated costs incurred. Since the start of this BID term, £580,000 has been invested to improve the appeal of Linlithgow and much more.

The report follows the structure of business plan that secured the Yes vote in 2019 to allow levy payers to benchmark the achievements.

Please complete this business consultation survey in an open and honest manner. All anonymised results and comments will be published before a further business plan is written. This will be aimed at reflecting the needs of businesses for the next five years of a BID term if a Yes vote is secured.

1.In 2019 the Town Centre BID and the Mill Road BID merged to form One Linlithgow, incorporating the wider Linlithgow area. Do you agree this was a good idea for this current BID term?

2.Since 2019 One Linlithgow has paid out more than £12,000 in premises improvement grants. Would you like to see continued support for premises improvement?

3.One Linlithgow has funded CCTV with 8 cameras in Linlithgow town centre and 3 cameras in Mill Road Industrial Estate since 2019. Do you agree that a CCTV service should continue?

4.One Linlithgow funds the installation, removal and storage of 73 festive lamppost motifs at Christmas and 17 trees with LED lights around the town. It also supports other local community events and organisations. Do you agree this should continue for the festive period?

5.One Linlithgow has installed 8 Defibrillators in Linlithgow in conjunction with the Ale Trail and Town Management Group(TMG). Do you think this was a good idea to introduce them to the town?

6.One Linlithgow provided £10,500 direct funding to Burgh Beautiful since 2019, for the planting, installation, watering, and maintenance of planters and other floral displays in the town centre over the summer months. Do you agree this should continue?

7.Since 2021, One Linlithgow took over the design, printing and distribution of the Linlithgow Visitor Guide. 45,000 copies were printed in 2023. Do you agree the Visitor Guide should continue to be published to promote Linlithgow?

8.In early 2024, One Linlithgow took over operation of the webcam at the Cross, replacing the old camera for a more advanced model and the associated broadband cost. Do you agree that a webcam for Linlithgow is a good idea?

9.In 2023 One Linlithgow took control of the town domain name Linlithgow.co.uk as a central digital tool and brand identity for the town and wider area. Do you agree this was a good idea?

10.In 2022, One Linlithgow introduced a monthly Artisan Market to the town. Do you agree the market should continue to be present in Linlithgow in the years ahead?

11.In a four year period from October 2019, One Linlithgow raised £157,000 over and above the BID levy of £423,343, creating a total budget of £580,346. Do you agree this amount of money could not be raised for Linlithgow without a Business Improvement District (BID) in place?

17.In 2023, One Linlithgow commissioned architects to draw up some basic plans to improve the short-term look of the Vennel area. The ideas were recently put to a public vote to secure funding to deliver the "Vennel Vision" concept, receiving over 300 votes from the public.
